Estimating Your Monopole & Dipole Antenna Maximum Permissible Exposure
The results should display below immediately when your input(s) changes.
You may need to ALLOW BLOCKED CONTENT to run scripts your web browser.
Typical transceiver maximum output is 100W SSB/CW or 25W digital/AM. Modulation duty cycles; SSB 20%, SSB with speech processing 40%, CW 40% and AM, FM, Digital modes are 100%. Antenna, tuner, match circuit and cable gains/loss are limited to prevent input errors. Ground reflections of antennas near the surface have a significant effect on radiations patterns proportional to the soil conditions, surface water or conductive surfaces. These reflections normally increase the RF levels near the antenna and are included in the results provided. To obtain a free space results (no ground reflections) from this calculator include an additional 4.1 dB of cable loss. Time averaging is not included, predicted Power Density is compared to the MPE limits to detemine distances.
Estimating Your Magnetic Loop Antenna Maximum Permissible Exposure
The results should display below immediately when your input(s) changes.

Common values; 25W at 100% = maximum transmitter output for RTTY, digital, AM and FM modes. Typical transceiver output is 100W SSB/CW with lower duty cycles; basic SSB 20%, SSB with speech processing 40%, and CW 40%. 14 MHz = 20M Band, 10.3 Ft = 1M Diameter Loop, 0.875 In OD = 3/4 Inch Copper Plumbing Pipe. Cable gains/loss are NEGATIVE and limited to -10 dB prevent input errors. Time averaging is not included, predicted Magnetic and Electric Field Strengths are compared to the MPE limits to detemine distances.
